AIA San Francisco, represents professionals and practices from all facets of the architectural industry. Our mission is to improve the quality of life in the Bay Area by promoting architecture and design. We further this goal through community involvement, education, advocacy, public outreach, member service and professional excellence. AIA San Francisco is the voice of the architecture profession at City Hall. Working in concert with other levels of the AIA, we advance a progressive sustainability agenda in Sacramento and Washington, DC.

AIA San Francisco’s Design Awards program recognizes outstanding achievements in architecture and design from Bay Area individuals and organizations. Design Awards winners are announced at the Design Awards Gala and featured in an issue of California Home + Design.
Architecture and the City festival
Celebrating San Francisco's unique built environment and design community, Architecture and the City is one of the first festivals of its kind in the Bay Area to feature behind the scenes tours, films, tastings, exhibitions, lectures, workshops and more. Presented in collaboration with over 100 partners throughout the city, the festival provides a broad spectrum of opportunities for the public to engage with architecture through all their senses.
San Francisco and Marin Living: Home Tours
AIA San Francisco's Home Tours series provides visitors with the exclusive opportunity to see some of the Bay Area's most cutting-edge residential projects from the inside out, meet design teams, learn more about the design process, explore housing trends and discover innovative design solutions that illustrate the positive impact of great design.
A portion of all proceeds will benefit the Center for Architecture + Design, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
One of the West Coast's only galleries devoted solely to the exploration of architecture and design, the AIA San Francisco / Center for Architecture + Design Gallery specializes in exhibitions showcasing the best of Bay Area design talent, while also exploring issues of national and international concern.
- MCE lectures provide architects licensed in California with the mandatory continuing education required for license renewal.
- The Career Strategies Roundtable is a monthly forum for design professionals to network, strategize and navigate this difficult economic climate in an informal and collaborative environment.
